Prof. Dr. Jurģis Sķilters

Jurģis Šķilters is the Chair of Lab for Perceptual and Cognitive Systems at the Faculty for Computing, University of Latvia. He is co-affiliated with the Program of Psychology and teaches cognitive science-related subjects at the departments of Computing, Medicine, Biology, and Geography. He is a Principal Investigator at the EU-Project ITN Early Language Development in the Digital Age (e-LADDA). Main research interests of prof. Šķilters are visual and spatial perception, interrelations between different sensory domains, and language processing. He is also interested in mathematical modelling of spatial relations and experimental testing them. His core interests in research on reading are the differences and impacts of format (digital, analog) and content type.
